First of all, who is The Independent? The Independent is an online newspaper that has been around for nearly 40 years. It is an unbiased suppliment thatreviews pretty much everything and anything worth talking about! This specific article gives us an unbiased outsider's point of view on the trampoline sector and with kids as the testers no one is going to be more honest!
We know kids love to bounce and as adults and parents we know the health benefits and how important it is to keep our kids active! But with such a popular toy, I think it’s fair to say the trampoline market is pretty crowded and there are lots of decent options out there. But which brands are truly the best?
The Independent spent over a month testing trampolines to find the best! Looking at the trampoline's safety features; how bouncy they are and value for money. After testing around 14 different trampolines of all shapes and sizes, they came to a conclusion.
According to The Independent article the best trampolines for 2023 are:
According to the mini testers, this trampoline had a good bounce to it and kept them entertained for hours. They thought the green spring pads blended in with their garden, and as the net is inside the springs, they felt it added a better feeling of safety.
Pricing = £329
If safety is the main reason you haven’t invested in a trampoline, then this trampoline is the one for you. With no springs, instead, flexible rods underneath the bouncing area away from harm, flexible poles holding the net up that mean your kids can’t contact them and no gaps in the bouncing area; your kids can’t hurt themselves from the product itself. The testers went back repeatedly and loved playing with the basketball hoop accessory.
Pricing = £1,295
They found the Salta 10ft had a medium bounce and was a lot lower to the ground making it easier for the little ones to get on and off without a ladder (ladder is an added extra). The frame comes with a two-year warranty and the maximum weight limit is 120kg, so could hold two smaller adults.
Pricing = £399
North Trampolines Pioneer:
A great sized trampoline that doesn’t feel too big in the garden. Testers found it was simple to put together and had a good bounce. This trampoline has an overlapped entrance rather than a zip, making it easier for younger kids as they don’t have to remember to do up the net. The testers said this trampoline was one of their favourites.
Pricing = £829
Domyos hexagonal trampoline:
This trampoline is well suited for more-modestly sized gardens. The value for money is hard to ignore but it is worth noting that it didn’t have the most premium feel and won’t last forever but did the job and kept the testers happy.
Pricing = £199.99
Every family will prioritise a different thing for their trampoline. Whether you’re looking for a lower budget, quality, warranty or safety is your main concern, there is a trampoline suited for you and your family!
A Word of Warning and a bit of Advice:
There are many different trampoline brands that will suit families that are looking for a trampoline at a lower cost. From our experience we know that a lower cost often is associated with lower quality products. There’s nothing wrong with lower quality products but just be aware that these products might not last your family a long time and result in you having to purchase replacement parts every year. It might be worth considering other options that will take your kids through their whole childhood and, rather than spending money every year on new parts, spend that money in the short term, one time only!
Things they Missed – Back to Us!
There will be ways of making the premium brands more affordable, such as, finance options. Springfree is an example of this; we offer an 0% finance option where you can pay off the price of your trampoline monthly over the course of 24 months. From our experience we know Springfree is the upper end of the cost which is why we felt it was important to offer 0% finance options!
If you are concerned about the safety of your kids when they use trampolines Springfree is the best option! The Springfree trampoline was invented by a dad that wanted to create a safe trampoline for his daughter. His wife (a nurse) said trampolines were too dangerous and told him that if he could create a springless trampoline they could have one. Dr. Alexander, as an engineer, saw this as a challenge and quickly started creating prototypes. Three years later the Springfree Trampoline was born!
With safety being the main priority, the Springfree Trampoline eliminates 90% of injuries from the product itself. From the FlexiNet, to the hidden frame, the SoftEdge mat, flexible enclosure rods and composite rods instead of metal springs; Springfree is truly the best option. We understand Springfree is slightly more expensive than most other trampolines but with a 10-year warranty and 0% interest finance options we work on being the best option for all families.
