Step-by-Step: Cleaning Your Trampoline Like a Pro
The weather is warmer, and your Springfree Trampoline is being bounced on more frequently. So, it’s time to get it looking brand new again! It’s important to look after your trampoline and with the weather due to be getting even nicer, what better time to do it than now!
We’ve put together a few tips on how to get your Springfree spit spot & squeaky clean this summer.
To clean the trampoline mat, follow these simple steps:
Start by brushing off leaves and debris with a soft brush. This helps clear the surface and makes rinsing more effective.
Rinse the mat using a hose with a soft brush or a jet wash if available. Keep the nozzle about two feet away from the mat to avoid high-pressure damage, as water pressure can vary.
For stubborn stains, mix a small amount of dishwasher detergent with water and apply it with some elbow grease. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, as they can damage the mat material over time.
Fun tip: Turn cleaning into a game for the kids! Challenge them to get the trampoline as clean as possible, and reward their efforts with a bit of extra pocket money. It’s a great way to make chores enjoyable and motivate them to help out!
Check under your trampoline for the mat rod holders. These are the grey or black plastic sockets embedded in the mat that secure the top of the mat rods. Look for any cracks or missing cleats. If you find any issues, don’t worry—we can send replacement parts right to your door. Simply give us a call or visit the parts page on our website for assistance!
The mat rods underneath your trampoline may also require inspection. Check for signs of yellowing, cracks, or general wear on the white sleeves, which can degrade over time due to sun exposure. Fortunately, these rods are easy to replace.
To clean them, use the same method as you did for the mat: wash with soapy water or use a power washer to restore their appearance. If you are worried please send over some images of the mat rods and we can advise!
We know that some customers choose to take their FlexiNet down for the winter, while others prefer to leave it up. There’s no right or wrong approach—it's all about personal preference and usage. If you’ve stored the net away for the season, now’s the time to reattach it. If you’ve kept it up, it’s probably due for a good cleaning.
A power washer is ideal for this task, but be sure to maintain a safe distance from the net to avoid damage. As you clean, inspect the net for any holes or signs of wear. While the net’s smart design prevents holes from expanding, it’s wise to monitor them to ensure they’re not large enough for fingers to pass through.
If you find any significant damage, replacement nets are available to keep your trampoline in top condition.
Don’t overlook the frame—it’s crucial to keep it in good condition. Regularly inspect the frame for any nicks or scratches. If you find any, you can touch them up with galvanized paint, available at most DIY stores. This helps prevent rust and keeps your Springfree trampoline looking new for longer.
If the frame is free of scratches, give it a thorough cleaning using a sponge, soap, and water to maintain its appearance.
A regular 5-minute check will highlight any on-going maintenance that may be needed, look after your Springfree and it will last for years!
