We’ll go ahead and spoil it for you: If you’re wanting a trampoline for exercise only and don’t have kids, go with a mini trampoline!   

They don’t take up nearly as much space as an outdoor trampoline, can be placed indoors and will be cheaper to get a quality mini trampoline than a quality outdoor trampoline.   

However, if you do have kids and want a trampoline to serve a dual purpose (fun for the kids, exercise platform for you) an outdoor trampoline would be the way to go! You can also buy an outdoor trampoline if you don’t have kids and want to have a little fun while exercising.   

Trampoline Size  

A trampoline’s size will be the next crucial thing to consider when buying a trampoline. It’s not just the physical size that’s important, but also how much weight the trampoline can hold.   

Here’s what you need to pay attention to when it comes to trampoline size:  

  • The dimensions of the trampoline and whether they will safely fit in your garden/room (if buying a mini trampoline).   
  • The trampoline weight limit, or how much individual weight a trampoline can hold.   
  • The amount of jumping room available (important for outdoor trampolines!)  
  • If you have kids, buying a trampoline for the future growth of your child instead of their current size.  

Buying the right-sized trampoline is a must if you want a trampoline that will safely last for you and/or your kids! Buying an adult trampoline likely means you will want to purchase a trampoline that is large and has plenty of room to jump.  

On a trampoline, you would want to look at an 11ft trampoline, 13 ft trampoline or anything bigger than that.   

Safety/Quality/Durability of Trampoline  

Once you have your goals set and have decided which type and size of trampoline you need, you must now assess which features you want in a trampoline.  

Now, the features you desire will depend partially on the type of trampoline you want. For example, if you’re buying a mini trampoline, you may want to look for a trampoline that can adjust the resistance levels of the trampoline. On an outdoor trampoline, the design of the trampoline might be an indispensable feature for you.  

Generally, though, the three most common features you will want to look for in a trampoline (regardless of type) are its safety features, quality features and how long the trampoline will last without requiring extensive maintenance.   

Getting a safe trampoline that is quality-made and long-lasting will be crucial to a satisfactory trampoline purchase.

You’ve got your goals down, contemplated the type of trampoline you need, assessed the appropriate size and gauged which features are most pertinent to you.  

The final major step to consider: What is your budget for a trampoline?  

The cost of a trampoline is typically the biggest deciding factor when it comes to buying a trampoline. Only you know how much you can reasonably spend on a trampoline.   

But a good line of thinking to follow on trampoline cost: If you’re expecting an adult trampoline to last, it’s better to pay a higher upfront cost for a high-quality trampoline than to bargain shop and hope it works out.  

There are also alternatives to get a heavy-duty trampoline for a better price, such as buying when a trampoline is on sale or financing a trampoline.
